"A Goosey Girl is the only kind of girl worth loving"
 Lackscroft and Roe

The story of Goosey is a letter exchange carried out between Terrwyn and myself, an idea I got from the marvelous Patricia Wrede. We had so much fun with it that we decided to revisit and revise all the letters.

We're posting them here with our edits and comments. You can get all the details about the project's history here. We have sample chapters, or as we call them, Letters, as well as a summary of the story so far. The first two letters will always be available and most recent letters that we're working on.

In Goosey, two selfish Princesses must learn the lessons of loyalty, love and friendship. It's a retelling of The Golden Goose and The Goose Girl. There are no fairy godmothers here, the girls look after themselves, surviving encounters with various livestock, robbers, pirates, evil wizards, magic rings, three mysterious old women and some badly written poetry. (But don't tell Lackscroft and Roe I said that part.)

The blog features the beginning of a new story, the adventures of Iana, Princess of Winding, and her sister Joli. Iana's story is a cross between Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast, with the main characters as sisters.

Mostly, you will find reviews, the Gooseyness Awards, musing about writing and fairy tale retelling and occasionally poems.
